Fitora apps

Client App

What your clients see and do in the Fitora app on iPhone and Android, screen by screen, so you can guide them.

Updated

Client app overview

Your clients use Fitora through the client app on iPhone and Android. Everything you assign in the coach web app lands there: workouts and programs, meal plans and macro targets, habits, check-ins and questionnaires, notes, resources, communities and challenges. This guide walks through the app screen by screen, so you can answer your clients’ questions without holding their phone.

The app is free for your clients. They download Fitora from the App Store or Google Play and sign in with the username and PIN that Fitora created when you added them.

In the app, clients:

  • Follow today’s plan from one Home screen
  • Log workouts set by set, with a rest timer, exercise videos and personal records
  • Log food against the targets you set, and follow the meal plan you assigned
  • Log habits and answer check-ins and questionnaires
  • Add progress photos and metric entries
  • Chat with you and take part in your communities and challenges

The app’s own buttons and menus are in English, and this guide names them exactly as they appear. Everything you write, from workout and habit names to notes, check-in questions, messages and posts, appears exactly as you wrote it, so you can coach in Macedonian.

App navigation

A tab bar at the bottom of the screen switches between the five main areas. The tabs are icons without text; each opens a screen with its own heading.

TabScreenWhat the client finds there
1st, a houseHome, headed with your brand nameToday’s tasks, challenges, communities, resources and your notes
2nd, a dumbbellTrainingTheir week or programs, the workout tracker and their training history
3rd, a leafHabitsWeekly habit progress and each habit’s calendar
4thNutritionThe daily food log and the meal plan you assigned
5th, their profile photoProfileCheck-ins, progress photos, metrics and settings

Other screens open on top of the tabs, with a back arrow instead of the tab bar:

The bell and chat icons carry a red badge with the number of unread notifications and conversations, so clients see at a glance when you have written.

Signing in

How clients sign in

When you add a client, Fitora creates a username based on their name and a four-digit PIN. Clients don’t create an account or a password themselves.

  1. Download Fitora from the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android)
  2. Open the app; the screen reads Welcome back
  3. Type the username in Username
  4. Type the four digits in Passcode
  5. Tap Login

The client lands on Home. The app remembers the sign-in, so they don’t type the PIN every time they open it, and the phone asks once whether Fitora may send notifications (see Notifications). To sign out, they tap Logout in Settings.

Where to find a client’s username and PIN

  1. Open Clients in the sidebar
  2. Click the three-dot menu on the client’s row and select Client Access
  3. Read the Username and Code, or copy either one with its copy icon
  4. Click Copy Details to copy both, or Email Details to email them to the client

The key icon at the top of a client’s profile opens the same Client Access window. Email Details sends the client an email titled “Your Fitora sign-in details” with their username and PIN; you can send it again after two minutes. When you add a client, ticking Email client the login instructions (you can do this later) sends it straight away. See Clients.

Common sign-in problems

Home

Home is the first screen after sign-in. The top bar shows your brand icon and name on your brand colour (Fitora’s own until the workspace owner sets them under Settings > Branding), with the bell and chat icons on the right. Below it, a greeting with their name and Keep pushing forward sits next to a ring showing how much of today is done, and the Tasks card counts today’s tasks as, for example, 2/5 Completed.

The card below lists everything due today, in up to four sections:

SectionWhat it listsWhat a tap does
WorkoutsWorkouts scheduled for today (Calendar mode only), marked Not started, In progress or CompletedOpens the workout, returns to the running one, or shows the summary of a finished one
QuestionnairesQuestionnaires the client hasn’t answered yet, or answered today, marked NOT STARTED or COMPLETEDOpens the form, or the submitted answers
Check-InCheck-ins whose schedule falls on todayOpens the form, or the submitted answers
HabitsHabits scheduled for today, with progress toward the goal+ opens the log sheet

Further down, Home shows:

  • Challenges: every challenge the client is in, with their rank or badges. Shown only when they are in at least one.
  • Community: the communities they belong to, with the member count. Shown only when they are a member of one.
  • Resources: the Vault, with the number of files and links you have shared. Tapping it lists them; images open in a preview, other files and links open in the browser.
  • Recent Note: the latest note you shared in the last 24 hours, with a count. VIEW ALL opens every note you have shared with the client.

The ring and the Tasks count include today’s workouts, the habits due today, and today’s check-ins and questionnaires. A check-in missed on an earlier day doesn’t move to Home; the client can still fill it in from Check Ins.

Notes you mark private with the lock icon never appear in the app. See Clients and Resources.

Training

Calendar and Fixed mode

What the Training tab shows depends on the training mode you choose for the client: on their profile, open the Training tab, click Settings and pick a mode under Training Mode.

ModeWhat the client sees
CalendarA Current Week strip of days; tapping a day lists its workouts. Workouts also appear on Home on their day.
FixedA list of their programs, each with its number of workouts. Opening a program shows its workouts one per page, to swipe through and start, with no dates attached.

Calendar mode, day by day

  • Current Week: one pill per day. View All opens the Workouts sheet with Previous and Upcoming tabs, grouped by date.
  • Workout cards: the workout image and name, the number of exercises and a status: PLANNED, IN PROGRESS, COMPLETED or MISSED (a past workout that was never finished). A Workout note tag means you left a note on it.
  • NO WORKOUTS ON THIS DAY when the selected day is empty.
  • Training Progress: how many workouts are done, and the Next Session.

How far ahead the client can see is set in the same Training Settings window, on the Calendar Settings tab, under Calendar visibility: Current Week, 2 Weeks, 4 Weeks or All. See Training.

Previewing a workout

Tapping a workout that hasn’t started opens its preview: the name, the number of exercises, and every section and exercise in order. Section labels name the type, for example Circuit section: or AMRAP section:, supersets are framed together, and a note icon opens your notes for the workout or a section.

Tapping an exercise opens its demo video, the prescribed sets and your exercise notes. Start Workout at the bottom starts logging (see Logging a workout). A finished workout opens its summary instead of the preview.

Rescheduling a workout

When you turn on Can client reschedule workouts to different dates? on the Calendar Settings tab, a calendar icon appears on workouts the client hasn’t started, on Home and in Training.

  1. Tap the calendar icon on the workout
  2. Pick the new date in Workout date
  3. Tap Save date

A workout can’t be moved once it has been started, and rescheduling is available only in Calendar mode.

Without an assigned program in Fixed mode, the tab shows No training with a note that you haven’t assigned a plan yet.

Logging a workout

Workouts are logged on a full-screen tracker. Only one workout runs at a time: starting another shows Workout In Progress until the current one is finished or discarded.

  1. Open a workout from Home or Training and tap Start Workout
  2. Type the values in each set row, for example reps and weight. The grey hints are what the client logged for that set last time
  3. Tap the check at the end of a row to complete the set. Empty fields take the grey hints; if there is nothing to fill them with, Set incomplete asks for the values
  4. Use Add Set or Delete Set under an exercise to change the number of sets
  5. Move between sections with the arrows at the bottom, which show where they are, for example Section 2 of 5
  6. On the last page, Review Workout 🔥, pick a rating under Rate Difficulty (Okay, Good, Fun, Great or Amazing), optionally write a Workout Comment, and tap Finish

The app then shows the workout summary, with the duration, date, Sets, Volume, Reps, any New Record and the comments, and returns to Training. You see the same summary in the coach app.

A workout in progress is saved on the client’s phone as they log, so leaving the app doesn’t lose it. It reaches you when they tap Finish; until then the coach app doesn’t show it as completed.

Controls during a workout

ControlWhat it does
Down arrow at the top leftMinimizes the tracker. The workout keeps running, and a Resume active workout: bar above the tab bar shows the time and percentage done; tapping it returns to the workout.

Play button on an exercisePlays the exercise video
… on an exerciseLeave Comment writes a comment on that exercise; Swap Exercise replaces it
Play button in a set rowStarts the countdown for a timed set

Rest timer

When a completed set has a prescribed rest, the rest countdown starts on its own. Clients can also open the timer from the header, pick minutes (0 to 5) and seconds (0 to 60, in steps of 10) and start it. While it runs they can add or remove 10 seconds, pause, cancel or shrink it. It beeps for the last three seconds, and if notifications are allowed the phone shows Rest Time’s Up! even when the app is in the background.

Personal records

When a completed set beats the client’s previous best on that exercise, a New Record celebration appears. Records are tracked for reps, weight, time, duration, distance, speed, cadence, height, calories, RPM and rounds, plus estimated 1RM and volume (weight × reps). The first time an exercise is logged sets the baseline and never counts as a record. Finished workouts with a record carry a New PR tag in the history.

Swapping an exercise

  1. Tap … on the exercise and choose Swap Exercise
  2. Search, or filter with Muscle and Equipment. Alternatives you added to the exercise are tagged Suggested
  3. Pick an exercise and tap Swap Exercise

Circuit, interval and AMRAP sections

SectionWhat the client sees
CircuitA Preview with Start Section, then a round counter such as 1 / 3 Round with Complete Round after each round, and finally Section Complete! with the totals and Reset Section
IntervalAfter Start Section, a timer runs each work period and Rest Period, with the exercise video, UP NEXT, and REMAINING, ROUND and COMPLETED; the buttons go back, pause and skip
AMRAPAfter Start Section, a countdown and a Round counter with Complete Round; when time runs out, Time’s Up! offers Complete Round and Complete Section

Training history

The clock icon at the top of Training opens History, with two tabs:

TabWhat it lists
WorkoutsEvery completed workout with its duration, date, the client’s difficulty rating and, where earned, a New PR tag. Tapping one opens its summary.
ExercisesEvery exercise the client has logged, with the date it was last done, and Search exercises. Tapping one opens its history.

An exercise’s history shows a chart for each tracked metric over 1M, 3M, 6M or 1Y, the Performance figures, including the number of Sessions, and every session the exercise was logged in. Tapping a session opens that workout’s summary.

Clients can play the exercise video from the Exercises list with the play button on its picture.

Nutrition: logging food

The Nutrition tab has two tabs: Log Food, which opens first, and Meal Plans. Log Food is the client’s food diary, one day at a time:

  • The date at the top, with arrows for the previous and next day; tapping the date opens a date picker.
  • With macro targets set, the calories eaten, left and goal, and bars for Carbs, Fat and Protein against their goals. Without targets, the total calories and each macro’s share.
  • One section per daily meal (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Snacks by default), each with its macros, its foods and Add Food. A section marked Older meal holds food logged under a meal that is no longer in their daily meals.

The goals are the calories and macros you set for the client, with the rest-day values on their rest days. You change the daily meals with Daily Meals on the client’s Nutrition tab. See Nutrition.

Day and food options

ControlWhat it does

Tapping a logged foodChange the Serving Size, Number of Servings or Meal, then tap the check
Swiping a logged food leftDelete, after confirmation

Adding food

Add Food under a meal opens the Add Food screen for that meal; the meal name at the top can be changed. The search box filters the lists, and three tabs hold what the client can log:

TabWhat it holds
AllHistory, the foods they logged before, and Suggestions, a list of common foods
My MealsMeals they saved, each with its foods; New Meal creates one
My FoodsFoods they created; New Food creates one
  1. Tap Add Food under the meal
  2. Tap + on a food to log one serving straight away, or tap the food itself to adjust it first
  3. Set the Serving Size and the Number of Servings (in half-serving steps), check the Meal, and tap the check

Tapping a saved meal shows its foods and macros: the check logs the whole meal, and Edit Meal changes it.

Creating a food or a meal

New Food opens Create Food, where required fields carry a star:

  • Name, Serving size (for example 1 cup or 100 grams) and Calories
  • Protein, Carbs and Fat under Nutrition Facts
  • Optional: Fiber, Sugar, Sodium, Potassium, Saturated Fat, Polyunsaturated Fat and Monounsaturated Fat

Save adds the food to My Foods; the Edit link in its sheet changes it later. New Meal opens Create Meal: the client names it, taps Add food to add foods from their lists, sets each food’s servings, and taps Save. Deleting a saved food or meal (swipe left) keeps everything already logged with it.

Nutrition: meal plans

The Meal Plans tab shows the meal plan you assigned: its name, calories and macro split, and each of its meals with a photo, calories and macros.

  • The note icon opens the plan’s Description.
  • With more than one plan assigned, the switch icon opens Meal Plans to choose which one to view; the app remembers the choice.
  • Tapping a meal opens the recipe: photo, calories, macro rings, description, Ingredients with quantities and macros, and step-by-step Cooking Instructions.
  • A meal with alternatives has a switch icon: Meal Options lists them, and Switch Meal shows the chosen option in its place.
  1. Tap + on the meal, or Log Meal on the recipe
  2. Adjust Servings if needed, up to the recipe’s number of servings
  3. Pick the daily meal to log it under
  4. Tap Log Meal

Clients can’t change the plan itself; only you can. A logged meal lands in Log Food for the selected day, today unless they picked another date there. With no plan assigned, the tab shows No Nutrition. See Nutrition.

Habits

The Habits tab shows how the week is going and every habit you assigned:

  • Weekly Progress: how much of this week’s habit goals is done, as a percentage and a ring.
  • Last 7 days: a bar per day for the habits logged; tapping a bar shows the count.
  • Habits: each active habit with its emoji, today’s progress ring, its schedule and a marker for each day of the week.
  • Upcoming: habits that start later. Tapping one shows Habit not available yet.
  • Completed: habits whose end date has passed.

A habit’s screen

Tapping a habit opens its screen: the Goal, with an info icon for the description, Scheduled Days and end date; today’s progress with +; a month calendar; and these statistics:

StatisticWhat it shows
Total CompletedDays, or weeks for a weekly habit, on which the goal was reached
Completion RateHow often the goal was reached, as a percentage
Current StreakCompleted days or weeks in a row up to now
Best StreakThe longest streak so far
Vol. TotalEverything logged, in the habit’s unit
AverageThe average logged value

Logging a habit

  1. Tap + on the habit, on Home, in Habits or on the habit’s screen
  2. Tap Add, type the amount to add in the habit’s unit and tap Add again, or tap the check to mark the goal as reached in one go
  3. To undo, tap the reset icon and confirm with Reset Habit

On the calendar, days that can be logged are ringed; tapping a past day logs or corrects that day. Future days and days outside the habit’s dates can’t be logged. When a habit has ended, its screen reads Congratulations! 🚀 Your habit has ended.

If you set a reminder on the habit, the client gets a push notification at that time, in their timezone, with your reminder message. See Habits.

Check-ins and questionnaires

A check-in repeats on the schedule you set; a questionnaire is answered once. Clients find them here:

WhereWhat the client sees
Home, Check-InCheck-ins whose schedule falls on today; one submitted today stays until the day ends

A metric answer is also logged to the client’s metrics, and progress photos are added to their gallery, both dated the day they submit. A questionnaire can be submitted only once.

Opening a submission shows every answer. When you reply to a check-in, your comment appears at the top under Comment Attached and the client gets a notification. See Forms.

Profile, photos and metrics

The Profile tab shows the client’s photo, name and email, and two counters: Workouts completed and Check Ins submitted. The pencil on the photo lets them choose a new profile photo (JPEG, PNG or WebP). Below come Check Ins, the Gallery and Metrics.

Progress photos

  1. Tap + on the Gallery card and choose a photo
  2. In Upload Progress Picture, set the Date and the Pose: Front, Back or Side
  3. Tap Upload

The card shows the latest photos. VIEW ALL opens the Gallery with two tabs: Photos, every photo, and Comparison, two photos of the same pose side by side with arrows to step through the dates. A comparison needs at least two photos of that pose. Tapping a photo opens it full size, with a delete icon.

Progress photos are private to the client and their coaches. You see them on the client’s Photos tab.

Metrics

The Metrics section lists the metrics you track for the client, each with its latest value. Tapping one opens its chart:

  • Week, Month or All Time, with the Average for the period and arrows to move between weeks or months
  • Touching the chart shows the value on that date
  • Activity lists every entry; tapping one lets them change it with Update or delete it
  1. Open the metric and tap +
  2. Type the value and check the Date
  3. Tap Add

A metric holds one value per date. Values also come from metric questions in check-ins and from entries you add in the coach app. See Metrics.

Chats

The chat icon at the top right of Home opens Chats: the client’s conversations with the last message, its time and an unread dot.

  • With no conversation yet, the client sees New Chat. With one coach it opens your chat; with several, Who do you want to message? lets them pick.
  • Direct chats are between the client and their coaches. Clients see a group chat only when you add them to it.

In a chat, clients can send:

  • Text, typed in Message... and sent with Send
  • Photos (JPG or PNG), videos (MP4, WebM or MOV) and files (PDF or Word) from the image icon: Photo, Video or File
  • Voice messages: tap the microphone, pause or delete while recording, and tap the check to send
  • GIFs from the GIF icon

Long-pressing a message opens the emoji reactions. A message that didn’t send shows Tap to retry. New messages arrive as push notifications on the client’s phone. See Messages.

Group chats are part of the Studio plan.

Community

When you add a client to a community, it appears on the Community card on Home. Tapping it opens the feed: the cover, name and member count at the top, pinned posts first, then the latest posts, with Load more at the end.

  1. Tap Write something... at the top of the feed
  2. Write the post; typing @ suggests members to mention
  3. Add up to 10 photos or videos, a GIF, or a poll with 2 to 5 options of up to 30 characters each; a post has either media or a poll
  4. Tap the megaphone icon to publish

Members can also:

  • React to posts with one of seven emoji reactions, and see who reacted
  • Comment and reply to comments, with @mentions and GIFs
  • Vote in polls
  • Edit or delete their own posts and comments
  • Search the community’s posts with the search icon

The shield icon opens the community’s about page: its description, the member list if you allow it, and notifications, where the client picks which community notifications they get: New Posts, Likes, Comments, Mentions and Poll Votes.

Community is part of the Studio plan. See Community.

Challenges

Challenges the client takes part in appear on the Challenges card on Home, with the challenge type and either their rank, such as #2, or their badges. A challenge stays visible for 30 days after it ends.

ModeThe challenge screen
LeaderboardA podium for the top three, then every other participant with rank and score; the client is marked (You)
MilestoneA badge track with each badge’s name and target; tapping a badge explains how to earn it. A progress card shows their total and what is left to the next badge, or All tiers unlocked!

The header shows a countdown: Starts in … before the start, the time left while it runs, and Ended afterwards. The info icon shows your description. Scores update from what clients already log, so nobody enters a score. The challenge types clients see include Total Workouts Completed, Total Workout Volume, Total Reps, Total Days Logged, Calorie Target Days and Protein Target Days.

Clients get a notification when you add them, when a challenge starts, 24 hours before it ends and when it ends. Challenges are part of the Premium plan and above. See Challenges.

Notifications

The bell icon on Home opens Notifications, grouped under Today, Yesterday and earlier dates, each with its time (and its date once it is older than yesterday) and a dot on unread ones. Tapping a notification opens the screen it is about; the double-check icon marks all as read. With nothing new, the screen reads You’re all caught up.

What happenedThe notification reads
You add a workout or import a calendar“… has been added to your calendar”
You assign a program, meal plan, check-in or questionnaire, or share a resource“… has been shared with you”
You assign a habit“… has been assigned to you”
You reply to a check-in“Your coach has reviewed …”
A challenge eventAdded, started, ends in 24 hours, or ended
Community activityNew posts, reactions, comments and poll votes on their posts, and mentions, as chosen in their community notifications

Push notifications

The same notifications arrive as push notifications, along with new chat messages and habit reminders. Tapping a push opens the related screen. The phone asks for permission after the first sign-in; if the client declined, no pushes arrive until they allow notifications for Fitora in the phone’s settings.

If a client says notifications don’t arrive, first ask them to check that notifications for Fitora are allowed in the phone’s settings, and that they are still signed in.

Settings

The gear icon on Profile opens Settings:

SectionOptions
ProfileName and Mobile number (each saved when they leave the field; an empty mobile number removes it), Sex (Male or Female), Height (in cm or ft / in) and Date of birth
PreferencesTimezone, chosen from a searchable list
Account ActionsLogout

The timezone decides when the client’s day starts: which workouts, habits and check-ins count as today, and when habit reminders arrive. If a client’s day looks shifted, check their Timezone.

Clients must be at least 13 years old, and height must be between 50 and 270 cm. You can edit the same body details, the mobile number and the timezone on the client’s Settings tab in the coach app. See Clients.

Seeing your latest changes

Most screens load their data when the client opens them. If a screen is already open when you change something in the coach app, the client pulls down on it to refresh; a spinner shows while it loads.

“I can’t move a workout”That Can client reschedule workouts to different dates? is on and the workout hasn’t been started.
“I don’t see a meal plan”That a meal plan is assigned; otherwise the tab shows No Nutrition.

“I can’t post in the community”That Allow Client Posting is on for that community.
“There’s no Community or Challenges card”That the client is a member of a community or takes part in a challenge; the cards appear only then.
“My day looks wrong”The client’s Timezone.
“The app asks me to update”That they install the latest version from the App Store or Google Play.

Frequently asked questions

How do my clients sign in?
With the username and four-digit PIN Fitora creates when you add them. Open Client Access on the client’s row to read, copy or email them.
A client forgot their PIN. What do I do?
Open Client Access on their row and read the username and PIN out, or click Email Details to send them again. The PIN doesn’t change, so there is nothing to reset.
Why is a client locked out of the app?
After five wrong PINs in a row, sign-in for that username is locked for 15 minutes. Share the correct PIN and ask them to try again after the wait.
Can clients edit their meal plan?
No. They view the plan and log its meals; only you change the plan. They can create their own foods and meals for logging.
When do I see a workout my client is logging?
When they tap Finish. The workout is saved on their phone while they log, then sent to Fitora with their rating and comments.
Can clients message each other?
Not in direct chats. Clients chat with their coaches, and with other clients only in group chats or communities you create.
Can clients log past days?
Yes. They can log food on any date, habits on past days within the habit’s dates, and metric entries with an earlier date.
Why doesn’t a check-in appear on Home?
Home shows a check-in only on the days its schedule falls on. Clients can fill in any assigned check-in from Profile > Check Ins.
Is the app free for clients?
Yes. Clients download Fitora for free on iPhone and Android; you pay for your Fitora plan.
Can clients change their timezone?
Yes, in Settings > Timezone, and you can change it on the client’s Settings tab. It decides which day counts as today and when habit reminders arrive.
